OAO NGK Slavneft invests additionally 190 mln rubles in geological survey and exploration of new fields located in YaNAO
OAO NGK Slavneft took a decision to increase the volume of investments in the development of two new fields, namely the Zapadno-Messoyakhsky and Vostochno-Messoyakhsky fields, located in Yamalo-Nentsky Autonomous Area (YaNAO) in the current year.
According to the decision made, the Company will invest additionally 190 mln rubles in exploration activities carried out in this region. These funds are planned to be applied to the drilling of one more exploration well, re-entry of wells and verification of commercial oil content of the horizons earlier not tested.
In 2009, the total volume of investments in exploration activities at the Zapadno-Messoyakhskoye and Vostochno-Messoyakhskoye fields will amount to 1.2 bln rubles. During the year, 4 exploration wells are planned to be constructed at these license areas.
In 2010, it is planned to drill 7 exploration wells with the total meterage of 19,800 meters at the Messoyakha fields. It will enable to explore over 15 traps with C3 oil recoverable reserves in the volume of ca. 700 mln tons and significantly increment the Slavneft resource base in YaNAO. At present, on the basis of the G&G data analysis the Company’s Scientific and Research Center is planning the intensive exploration activities in the region for the near future.
Since 2000 OAO NGK Slavneft has been carrying out its activities at the Zapadno-Messoyakhsky and Vostochno-Messoyakhsky license areas. Over the past period due to the results of the exploration activities the Company enabled to increment over 77 mln tons of C1 oil recoverable reserves and 152 mln tons of C2 oil recoverable reserves. The Zapadno-Messoyakhskoye and Vostochno-Messoyakhskoye fields are planned to be brought into pilot production in 2013.
